Memorial Weekend

We had so much fun going to Palisades. Justin and I have driven there before when there was LOTS of snow. We knew it would be a place we wanted to return to for great hiking and maybe even biking.
Today, Al took us there. We hiked up the Palisades Creek trail. When we reached a point where there was water crossing the trail, we decided to sit for a bit and eat the picnic we had packed. After our snack, we decided to head back down the trail since it was chilly and I had only worn sandals.
On our way down the trail, we found the perfect spot to take some great pictures! The whole river was amazing with the fast flowing water but we found this waterfall to be perfect for our quest!

Justin and Football Season

Saturday was the final football game. It was playoffs. Justin's team was behind 20 to 0. Justin kept telling the coach if he were to get the ball, he would make a touchdown. With 3 minutes left in the game, the ball was handed off to Justin and he ran. He used his blocker perfectly and scored the only touchdown by their team. The crowd knew who his mother was!! Here are pictures from the final game. I love getting pictures of Justin in ACTION!

Getting into position to stop the other team from scoring a touchdown!

The handoff which lead to Justin's touchdown!

Justin and coach Mike! The coach loved Justin's drive to get to the ball!

Mother's Day at the Skate Park

I always love watching Justin gain courage at the skate park. I know I'm the crazy mother who doesn't make him wear his helmet. Justin has amazing balance and he's never really tried anything that he knows he can't do. He's very good at starting slow and learning gradual.

Here are pictures from Mother's Day. We took a trip to Blackfoot and rode the trail that goes along the freeway. Of course we took time to try things at the skate park. When I got on my bike, all the kids told me I was a crazy old lady. Crazy maybe...old?...NEVER!

Justin's first attempt at getting air over the top!

2nd attempt...he's almost got it!

He finally got the perfect jump on the 3rd try. My photographic abilities did not catch all the air he got. Sorry little buddy. Guess we'll just have to try again.

Justin's singing

Justin LOVES to sing. He can carry a tune. I am always amazed at his musical talents. He is teaching himself to play piano. He doesn't have the patience to sit and take lessons. For his birthday, he got an electric drum set. He could sit for hours and just listen to music and follow the beat. For Christmas, I'm hoping Santa brings him an electric guitar and me an acoustic one. I remember listening to Dad play the guitar. It was so relaxing and brought comfort to my teenage years.
Here are videos of Justin singing to me on the way home from seeing his dad. We always have the funnest times.

I have not had enough time to keep up on this blog. Justin is into football right now and I've forgotten to take my camera to each of his games.

I did remember to take it when he went to see his dad. Here are pictures of Justin and his pet duck, Max. Max follows Justin EVERYWHERE and they have a lot of fun together.

I will try to be better at keeping this up to date!
