Sports

I am so bummed I haven't had my camera. I sent it with a girl from work who's chronically ill son was given a trip to Disney World. I haven't been able to take pictures and I'm going CRAZY!
Justin has been so busy with summer camp, scouts and football camp. Saturday was the Grid Kid football camp. Justin LOVED it. He was one of the smallest kids out there but he had the most determination to prove he could do it. When he would get knocked down, he got right back up. While learning defense, one of the "big" kids couldn't get Justin to move. So the kids had to pick him up to get him to move. While hiding behind the big foam blocker, Justin would get on his tippy toes to look over at his opponent. He had the biggest smile on his face and he'd be laughing. He sure enjoyed learning and can't wait to play tackle football with full gear. Not sure how I feel about it. When Justin is determined, he doesn't give up. Just like BMX racing. He wanted to start at the young age of 3. Mothers told me he was too young but Justin proved them wrong. He learned to ride without training wheels so he could be in the gate with the big kids.
Some of Justin's funny sayings lately...
While looking at a cheap toy that entertained him while grocery shopping, he turns the toy over and reads, "Made in China." Justin says, "Why are we such lazy people? We can't even make our own toys."
Justin is always saying...LIKE. "I was like, I didn't want peas for lunch."
If we're doing something Justin doesn't want to do, like go shopping, "By my calculations, boys don't like to shop."
His mind is always working and someday I'm afraid I'll run out of answers for all his deep thought questions.
Life is great with Justin and I wouldn't imagine it any other way. I love that kid!

Great Grandpa Jensen

Today has been a good day for Justin but a sad day for family. Great Grandpa Jensen passed away this morning from kidney failure. He was such a great man. Always showing the true meaning of compassion. There was nothing he wouldn't do or give to anyone in need. I have many awesome memories of my grandpa. Sad to say, Justin did not get to see his great grandpa enough. Our hectic lives kept us busy. If only we had taken the time to see him one last time. We will never get that one last time back. Oh how we take loved ones for granted.

Pack Meeting

Tonight was Justin's first night at Pack Meeting. I can tell scouting is going to be quite the adventure. A lot has changed since my brothers have been in scouts. Justin was quite the trooper and loved it when the whole group stood to give him the sprinkler cheer.

Basketball Camp

Justin really loved Basketball Camp. He learned a lot and he looked so good. What a go getter. The coach gave him a miniature basketball for being the littlest player on the team. Here are pics from the last game! I'll try getting the videos on later!

Patiently waiting for his game to start. He was the smallest player out there.I love seeing him in action.Waiting for the other team to shoot a foul shot.Taking the ball from out of bounds! In the middle of the action!Justin idolized his coach. He loves his new basketball!

Pictures

After I dropped Justin off at scouts tonight, I decided to see what pictures we have on the camera. Boy have I gotten behind. Where do I begin? Let's start with the first picture and go to the last.

Joy's baby Kru. He is so adorable...especially when he sleeps. He loves cuddling up to my stuffed dog, JJ. I love it when they come to visit!
I think Kru is so adorable. Here is a picture of him outside hanging with the big boys. It was so hard keeping him out of mischief. I don't know how Joy does it with 4 boys. I admire her!Keegan is such a character. He loves to dress up and give himself a title. Here he is an army guy...I think. Earlier he was wearing his Clone Wars helmet. I always love hearing Keegan's stories.
This is Nick and the family pet goat. They got the goats to help keep the grass down. Nick has fun playing with them.
More football pictures.
Justin's dad got him 2 turtles. Their names are Henry and Larry. They are very active and sometimes do the turtle piggy back dance. HMMMMM?
Nick again having fun with the camera. He loves taking self portraits.
Joy has chickens and so we are very lucky to get fresh eggs. Joy pointed out that one egg was VERY large.
When you cracked the egg open, this is what was inside...2 eggs! They were delicious! I love fresh eggs.
Tuesday, I got off work early. I was going CRAZY with the sun out and me stuck inside. I picked up Justin and we went for a bike ride along the green belt. We always love seeing the falls. They are so beautiful and the trail is fun to ride.
Justin being silly. I am so lucky to have him.
While we were on the greenbelt, our friend Liisa called. Her and a group of friends were going to Kelly Canyon for mountain bike riding. They were leaving in a half hour and they wanted to know if we wanted to go. Justin had never been on a real mountain bike trail. When we reached the top, this is what it looked like. It was so beautiful and breath taking. Justin did amazing and was able to keep up with all the "big" people.
Here is Justin and Liisa at one of the clearing in the trail. Most of the ride was in between big tall trees and bushes. Justin got worried that there might be animals in the woods. Luckily, the only animal we saw was a squirrel.
When we were almost to the end of the trail, the rain started to pour down on us. We got soaked and covered in mud. It was awesome. Justin and I rode up ahead of the group so we could get out of the rain. Justin kept getting nervous that we should stay with the group so bears wouldn't want to eat us. He was a trooper and I can't wait to take him again.

Here is my bike after the ride. The picture doesn't really show all the mud that was covering it.
Here is just a sample of the mud we had. It was like this from head to toe. By the time we got home, it was dry and it just flaked off. My car sure does need a bath now tho.
Justin thought it was cool that his hoody kept him clean. Look how tired he is. He fell asleep while telling me he wasn't tired at all.
On our way downn the mountain, something really cool happened. The rain was pouring and you could hardly see a few feet in front of you. Justin was nervous. The road was REALLY bumpy and the windshield kept fogging up. Justin asked that we pull over and say a prayer. He asked Heavenly Father to please get us home safely, to help Mom drive safely down the mountiain and that the car would "function properly." It was priceless. He felt much better after his prayer. While we were driving, the windshield immediately fogged over and you could not see anything out. Justin started to panic and said, "Heavenly Father, I thought I told you to make the car function properly." And with that, the windshield cleared completely and it didn't happen again. Thank you Justin for watching out for us and doing what you feel is right in your heart.
Our lives have become a little hectic. It seems we are always running. Monday Justin started basketball camp. He has really enjoyed it and keeps saying he's improved his skills and can't wait to play in a game. It only goes for a week.
Next week, he starts daycamp at the YMCA. It includes flag raising, camp songs, swim lessons, nature studies, field trips, arts and crafts, skits, challenges, group games, hikes and archery. Some of the field trips they will be going on are: CSI Ropes Course & Planetarium in Twin Falls, Ogden Dinosaur Park, Eat your way thru Cache Valley in Logan, Lagoon, Harriman State Park, Cherry Hill in Layton, Montana Ghost Towns, Lava, Hogle Zoo, Overnight at the zoo, Heise and Riot Zone. Justin is going to have so much fun. No more sitting at daycare. He will be out having fun.

Missing RAD Canyon

Justin and I use to go to RAD Canyon to race BMX. Oh how we miss it. We didn't realize how spoiled we were until we moved to Idaho Falls and tried out their track. I know we haven't given it a fair enough chance. But RAD was just awesome. The Utah BMX Family was the best.

While looking thru pictures, we found a video of the RAD indoor track. I would give anything to go back to the days when we practiced Monday nights, raced Tuesday and Thursday nights and traveled to Tooele Saturday nights to race. Those were the days.

Some of my favorite people in the world are in the video! I miss UTAH BMX!

Justin at the Zoo

Justin was given a special ticket to visit the Tautphaus Zoo. He was so excited to see what types of animals Idaho Falls has in their zoo. Of course it is nothing like the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake but it is a zoo.
We weren't able to stay long since the dark clouds rolled in early and brought a HUGE thunder/rain storm. Luckily we were able to get out before the storm hit.
All the kids were asked to help paint a very large picture of kids at the zoo. Justin loves to pain and color. He went right to work with his cup of red paint and chose chose to paint a littel boy's shirt. He was able to finish it. We had to leave as soon as the dark clouds came.
Here is most of his master piece!
